One of the reasons the Mac was unable to displace the IBM-PC in the 80's was the fact that Lotus 1-2-3 was not ported. Instead, Lotus developed Jazz, a Mac-like spreadsheet. It proved to be an eventual failure, as Microsoft ate Lotus' market share. In fact, the legend goes that Lotus actually got more returns of Jazz than actual licenses it sold - apparently, even the software pirates hated the product. Lotus did eventually release 1-2-3 for the Mac, but by then, it was too little too late to fight off the Excel juggernaut. Thanks to Robert James for this image.
